What animals have made a difference in your life?

Willow

As a child, we never managed to keep pets alive for more than a few weeks. The fish got fried in their water by being left in the bathroom near a window on a sunny August week-end... the hamster was forgotten in the garage of my parent's summer cottage... and I had a lovely baby duck that caught a cold and died from it which really broke my heart. So not much chance at pets as a child.

I must have had a love of animals all along because the suffering of animals has always been an issue for me. All animals have always impressed upon me something magical. There were friends' dogs. And for some reason, there is a labrador at the back of my mind that is waiting to come into my life. I am just too scared that if I am solely responsible for it, I might kill it... plus my partner is really a cat person. To say he doesn't like dogs is a mild statement.

My partner's cats have changed my life and my step son's rabbits too. I am still keeping in the background as if there was a curse about me that might kill them. But I care for them and give them plenty of cuddles.

Willow here on the picture, left us Christmas last year. There is a very special story about her. My partner took a long time to decide to bring his three cats down to where I live... and Willow, as a result of his home being deserted most the time (he spent all nights at mine) became a street cat again, seeking affection elsewhere. One day, me and my step daughter decided to go and get her. We didn't know where she slept anymore as a little girl on the road had "adopted" her but we didn't know where she lived. Before we headed for my partner's house, I mentally asked Willow to appear at the corner of the street in front of a particular house if she wanted us to take her home. My step daughter, who is in her mid-twenties, was a bit sceptical about the telepathic bit but went along nevertheless. We hadn't seen Willow in weeks.

When we drove past the corner of the house that I had mentioned telepatically to Willow, she was sat there waiting for us. Not only that, when my step daughter took her in her arms into the car, she settled down quietly and peacefully on her lap and stayed there all the way down to my place. She walked into my home as if it had been her home all her life. That was pretty amazing.

I will always cherish her in my memory.

What did you, or do you, like most about school?

The holidays!!!

I know it sounds awful but I was unhappy in school from the moment I started. Sometimes, a kind teacher made things a  little more bearable but most of the time, it was hell.

I had hideous thick glasses and cross eyes which all kids teased me about. I found it very difficult to make friends. I found most children mean and dishonest. And unfortunately, my children suffer in the same way. I guess we just don't fit in the norm and because of this, I find that I was the target of a lot of teasing and jealousy. I was lucky to have one good friend who was very loyal. But even that was sometimes a challenge because all the other girls were trying to separate us and "snatch" her away from me.

Plus I was very quickly bored in school. Looking out the window for some entertainment... I only learnt in my thirties that I was a gifted child. My parents had decided to put me in mainstream education and not say a word to me. They did what they thought was best, but the boredow sometimes made days really difficult.

From age 9, I started changing schools all the time.... and lost my best friend.

I much preferred University because I chose what I wanted to learn and was allowed a little more freedom on how I organised my days...

School and all learning establishments should offer children-student centered learning opportunities instead of the conveyor belt education that we have to put up with. This has been done in the psychology area with geniuses like Carl Rogers... when is it goint to reach the school world? There is nothing worse than a child that is bored.

So definitely the holidays. Long nice breaks that you never get again, unless you become a teacher.

Let go and let God.

Don't be in such a hurry, everything happens when it's the right time.

Stop worrying about things so much, including about getting things wrong or making the wrong choices; there is no wrong choice, only a learning curve.

Enjoy the present moment... as it is already filled with bliss.

Rejoice for you are a blessed child of God.

Shine your colours as bright as you can for you are the light... you are here to inspire.
Go, my little Anges, and spread your wings and love and healing to the World

What message does your highest self have for the world?

Calling in the angels (this is the name of the piece above)

Keep heart.

We can all make a different by looking after ourselves properly and cultivating peace, joy and love in our hearts no matter what.

Than if we feel we have some spare, spread that love, joy and peace to our loved ones.... and then to our neighbours.... and then to our relatives... and then to our village or city... and communities....

We will all make a difference individually whether we only do the first one (look after ourselves) or have some spare for others. Sometimes we go through crisis and that means we must take care of ourselves first. When we get better, we can start helping others again.

The best way to change this planet is one person at a time. Tiny baby steps. Just do it. Even if you think it doesn't make a difference, you don't know, do you? Every little step helps.

Even if it's just walking with a smile and sharing that joy with others and sending love through your eyes.

Why look within?

Such an interesting question...

Our inner world is the root of our life experience. It gives shape to our experiences and colours everything we do. If we ignore what is going inside of us, then the outside world will reflect it back at us until we understand. However, this means that we live our lives passively by reacting to a reflection.

Much more active is to look within, and tend your own inner garden so that it looks exactly as you want it to be. Then the outside world will reflect what you have created inside and you won't have to react. It will be perfect: just as you would like it to be.

Shifting from the outside to the inside is the first step on anyone's spiritual path. This does not mean that you shut yourself away from the world; it means that you become responsible for everything you create: for every single thought, word... and act.

Our modern world keeps on distracting us from the inner world. It's all about entertainment and self-ignorance. The issue with this is we then act out our problems and create chaos around us. This is the opposite of mindfulness, the art of always being in the present moment in total awareness.

Voila.... pourquoi.... it's important to look within. LOL

What have you learned from the world?

That there is as many truths and paths on this planet as there are individuals and none of them are wrong... or right. Ultimately we all walk sooner or later towards the light - although I know some don't and have decided to turn away from it. I leave it to God to bring them back to the light some day. It's too big a task for a human being.

I think we all have had a materialistic phase at one point in our development and there is nothing wrong with that. Enjoying the process is what matters. But true, you can forget what is truly essential. That's our privilege.

So I declare that I honour everyone's path... some can show us the way and I am grateful for them too.

Blessings

What are you experiencing right now?

Posted on Mar 26th, 2009 by Anges : Soul awakener Anges
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 26, 2009:

Ears

I have been deaf in the right ear now for three days due to a blockage and it has made me realise how important our senses are. It is ok when you keep your own company but as soon as there are others around you talking into the wrong ear then you feel like a fool and you cringe at the idea of having them repeat so you smile like a fool.

I have a friend who is deaf and she experiences this day after day although she can lip read, every time we go to the restaurant as a group, she sometimes ends up feeling very lonely. I make sure I sit by her and give her plenty of attention. Sometimes we have a good laugh because between my French accent (not too strong but enough to startle a deaf person) and her deafness, we feel sometimes like we are ill-paired.

When I still lived in France, my sister had a very good friend who was blind. Again, it was quite astonishing how little thought people gave to his needs: bins left in the middle of the pavement... cars parked in the most inconvenient and unexpected places. He took it all on the chin but I know sometimes, especially when he fell and injured himself, it must have aggravated him. I would have understood had he been quite angry at the carelessness of others.

He organised a wonderful exhibition with the Mairie de Paris called Dark Noir: the purpose of it was to educate abled people (voyants could be the term) by putting them through the experience of a blind person. So you were taken into a completely dark room with several levels, given a cane and left to get on with things. There was a fountain in a garden, then a road to cross, an exhibition and last but not least a cafe where you had to make your order and get back to your table. It was the most enlightening experience I have ever had and I absolutely loved it. I loved how I used touch so much more, and smell and hearing. I loved the shift in experience.

I wish exhibitions like this would be organised all over the world to make people more aware of what it is like to live with a disability. As we human rarely understand until we experience it. We could be asked for example to experience living in a wheelchair...

What do you think? Anybody up to the challenge of organising one such exhibition?

How could you answer the question, "What do you do?"

Posted on Mar 31st, 2009 by Anges : Soul awakener Anges
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 31, 2009:

I can't... I just AM.

Right now, I am sitting in front of my computer after having spent most of the morning doing what I want instead of what I should be doing. I have long given up on dos and donts and shoulds and musts.... though. What I could have done is: the laundry, tidying up the house, writen more chapters of my book, finishing a workshop manual, lied in bed to get some rest.... sent some distant healing... paint for my next art exhibition (coming so so soon), answered the phone, call my bank... call my parents, sort out an argument I had with my brother before Christmas (I will do it when my heart sings about it and I am getting more ready every day)...

And here is what came out of just being:

MY DREAM

This was premeditated. I was almost convinced by external influences that I need to wait to have this dream: wait to earn enough to cover my own needs.... wait until I had the time... wait until the dream was clear enough.... wait until someone else could share my dream. But I am stubborn and opinionated.... so I did what I felt like doing.

If you would like to share my dream.... or just let me know if you would like to add colours to my dream.... any comment welcome.

When I don't dream I enjoy every moment of life, every nugget, every gem... the smile of a child, a drop of rain on a window, the sound of beautiful music...
