"Rainin"

This morning as I was taking my children to school, I looked out the window and the rain was heavy. I usually try not to feel too down when it rains as my theory is that the sun should be in your heart and stay there with warmth and appreciation for each day.
But I have to say that this morning, with the rain and the darkness starting to set in... my heart was not so upbeat. I prepared the kids and put them in the car. My two year old refused to put his rain coat on. I decided not to fight.
When we got to school, I parked, got him out of the car and found his little umbrella in the boot of my car. Got mine out too. My umbrella is a huge golf rainbow umbrella and I have to say that the mere fact of taking it out of the boot raised my spirits. The magic was about to beginning.
Nicholas grabbed his umbrella and started singing "rainin... rainin..." At first I didn't understand what he was saying but his big sister, Ondine (9 years old) said "Oh yes Nicholas, it's wonderful, you said raining". From then on, the magic went on. He was walking around mischieviously and singing "rainin... rainin...." and running into puddles of water. Telling everyone "rainin... rainin..." and his joy was infectious. I couldn't help smiling.
And on the back of my heart opening to that joy and wonderful energy, a mum stopped me and said she was really looking forward to Thursday night (I am taking part in a charity event offering reiki and chakra clearings for a minimal price) with a huge smile. For me, it's really big as I often feel isolated and lonely around the school.
I got back home with a little song in my head after I dropped my son at the child minder: "rainin... rainin..."
This is the reason why I am so blessed to live spiritual motherhood as my path on this earth. I embrace it wholeheartedly and I thank God for having let me know this incredible blessing. My children are my teachers. The more I grow, the more I become like a child.
